Requirements

  • Agrees with Cascade Christian Schools' Teaching Statement and Statement of Faith
  • A Christian role model in attitude, speech, and action
  • Bachelor’s degree in an academic content area; advanced degree preferred
  • Five-plus years of experience in teaching junior high and high school students
  • Strong knowledge of junior high and high school operations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to establish meaningful relationships with all students in ways that foster the development of the whole child
  • Ability to perform position responsibilities in ways that ensure a respectful, inclusive, and equitable environment for all members of our diverse school community
  • Ability to work with faculty in ways that nurture professional collaboration, exchange, and growth
  • Ability to effectively lead employee teams and manage individual employees
  • Ability to design and implement an innovative, engaging, and age-appropriate curriculum in the content area
  • Able to attend devotions, faculty meetings, after-school and evening functions
  • First-aid and CPR-certified or willing to receive and pass certification training
  • Background check clearance

Responsibilities

  • Assist with faculty mentoring and serve as an instructional coach as directed by the junior high or high school principal.
  • Facilitate student support team meetings and follow-up
  • Assist with leading and organizing faculty professional development as requested by junior high and/or high school principals.
  • Ensure grade books and lesson plans are up to date and meet CCS Faculty Standards.
  • Coordinate and organize 4 Pillar Assemblies with the school registrar
  • Work with program leads and the school registrar to ensure student eligibility standards are maintained.
  • Work with junior high and high school principals and the dean of students to ensure that appropriate student behavioral expectations are communicated and maintained.
  • Assist junior high and high school principals with daily school operations and planning of the school schedule and Discipleship/counseling – as requested by junior high or high school principal, school counselor, or parents.
  • High school lunch duty (two to three days a week).
  • Supervise and direct junior high/high school operations with the dean of students in the absence of the junior high and high school principal.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Work collegially in teams in ways that foster professional collaboration and exchange.
  • Is readily available to students for extra help and guidance outside of class.
  • Complete all required administrative and operational tasks promptly, in accordance with school operating policies and procedures.
