About The Position

The Title Clerk will be responsible for the processing of all car deals. This includes verifying costs for the accounting department, including reconditioning and equipment add-ons, and handling the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience within a Automotive dealership operations office.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Valid drivers license and a good driving record.
Good Judgment

All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license

Responsibilities

Process all new and used vehicles for registration and prepare tax and title documents.
Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles and verify application accuracy and completeness.
Verify that funds have been collected and correct lien holders are paid off before processing title applications.
Prepare payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins; bill out dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles and compile a complete list of all outstanding title work.
Report to management on the status of missing or problem titles and provide a current list of outstanding titles to the comptroller at month-end.
Process and register all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts, maintaining a log of all contracts processed and mailed.
Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with the comptroller and stay current with title regulations.
