About The Position

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Dealership Accounting Clerk to join our team in Seaside, CA. The Dealership Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting functions, including processing payroll, managing financial records, and performing bank reconciliations. This role works closely with our Dealer Management Systems to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role may include additional responsibilities as required to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a business office with accounting responsibilities
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Efficient data entry and time management skills
  • Dependable and professional attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in dealership accounting preferred; familiarity with Reynolds and Reynolds software is a plus
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized and accurate accounting system
  • Receive, reconcile, and process vendor invoices promptly
  • Prepare customer invoices and credit batches
  • Reconcile daily cash deposits and manage petty cash
  • Generate accounts payable checks and update accounts payable daily
  • Reconcile statements and ledgers to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Assist customers and banks with refunds and cancellations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Maintain up-to-date records for accounts receivable and payable
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, data entry, filing, and record keeping
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and educational sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
