About The Position

The Nugget Casino Resort Dealer School is seeking customer service-oriented individuals who want to learn to deal blackjack. We will pay you to attend! Selection for participation will be completed by August 1. Day and evening classes are available beginning the week of August 10 and concluding on August 28. Class times are Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm or 3pm - 7pm. Join us and start your journey toward becoming a Table Games Dealer!

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
  • Successful completion of the Nugget Casino’s Dealer’s school.
  • Nevada Gaming Registration is required after graduation from dealer school, and prior to first shift in Table Games.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all required classes of the Nugget Dealer School.
  • Upon completion of the class, and demonstrated abilities to deal the game of blackjack, you may be hired as a Nugget Table Games Dealer.
  • Must attend class daily; you may select which class time best suits your schedule each day. One class must be attended daily, or multiple classes may be attended daily for early graduation.
  • Students must successfully complete the training program in 60 hours (minimum 20 hours per week).
  • Employment is not guaranteed. You must successfully meet the training requirements upon evaluation by Nugget instructors and management before employment will be offered, and obtain Employee Gaming Registration with Nevada Gaming Control.
  • Possess the mobility and dexterity for range of motion, both left to right and right to left, bend, flexibility in fingers and hands to distribute/pick up cards, tokens, cash, and operate any other equipment needed to deal at assigned table.
  • Receive coaching in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrate support of company goals and direction positively in words and actions.
  • Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests.
  • Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  • Regular predictable attendance is required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
