Dealer Trade Driver
About The Position
Bergstrom Ford of Oshkosh is seeking a Part-Time Dealer Trade Driver to join their team. As Wisconsin's largest dealership, Bergstrom Automotive prioritizes exceptional guest experiences and team member growth. The Dealer Trade Driver will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles between dealerships and other locations, ensuring vehicles are properly loaded, secured, and transported without damage. This role involves performing pre-trip inspections, maintaining accurate records, following traffic laws and safety policies, and communicating with the management team. The driver will also assist with light dealership duties, such as moving vehicles on the lot, and provide professional and courteous guest service during vehicle handovers. The schedule is casual and as needed, with hours varying based on dealership needs and driver availability, typically Monday-Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional Saturdays. Work volume can fluctuate significantly.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Physically capable of inspecting and moving vehicles, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience driving vehicles in a professional capacity is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport vehicles between dealerships and other locations as needed.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly loaded, secured, and transported without damage.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle conditions.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Communicate with the management team to confirm delivery times, vehicle details, and any special requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicles during transport.
- Provide excellent guest service by being professional and courteous during vehicle handovers.
- Assist with light duties around the dealership, including moving vehicles within the lot as needed.
