JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: All employees within Braille Institute of America are expected to support the organization’s mission, vision and values, work cooperatively with others, contribute to the positive morale of the department/center and be a respected representative of the organization. Job Summary: The DeafBlind Coordinator, American Sign Language Tactile Interpreter provides tactile American Sign Language interpretation and coordinates volunteer interpreters to support clients during Braille appointments, classes, and programs, while leading weekly Tactile American Sign Language and ProTactile communication classes for the DeafBlind community. This role collaborates with leadership to strengthen programs, supports volunteer recruitment and training, ensures a safe and welcoming environment, and delivers translation and coordination services across all seven Southern California Centers as needed.
