DDS Residential Counselor - Forest Street
About The Position
Open Sky Community Services supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges referred by the Department of Developmental Services. The organization provides safe, nurturing homes that address each individual’s needs and preferences and encourages participation in community life. The DDS Residential Counselor supports people diagnosed with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in a group living environment. The role provides evidence-based treatment and care, guidance, and support with activities of daily living. Counselors implement procedures that promote individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, advocate for those they serve, and support community integration and meaningful, active lives.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and take a lead role in implementing daily plans.
- Implement procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals, as well as the cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
- Assist individuals in accessing transportation and/or provide transportation.
- Review and complete required documentation.
- Provide guidance and support with activities of daily living.
