About The Position

Vermont Disability Determination Services (VT DDS) has a great opportunity for physicians (M.D. or D.O.) who want to expand and extend their medical expertise by performing administrative medical reviews of disability applications in a collaborative team environment. This position allows you to use your medical knowledge in a consulting role with no direct patient care responsibilities, and it provides a chance to make a difference and support our mission to make timely, accurate, and fair disability decisions for Vermonters. Disability Determination Services provides the medical eligibility for applicants filing for disability benefits under the Social Security Disability Program, the Supplemental Security Income Program, and Medicaid disability.

Requirements

  • Current Vermont medical license (M.D. or D.O.) in good standing.
  • Adept at navigating through large volumes of medical records.
  • Must apply online to be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a general or family practitioner or cardiologist is helpful.
