Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant software/computer related fields, or two to four years related experience and/or training.
  • Related experience includes spreadsheet manipulation or database manipulation and macro development.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively alongside Puffer-Sweiven’s customers, management, and sales organization
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and algorithms to practical and complex situations
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that apply to several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to effectively use the following computer applications: Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Networking, PC and mainframe systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience preferred with any DCS systems such as Operator Display implementation, I/O database implementation and Control Strategy implementation.
  • DCS: DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, Honeywell, Yokagowa, PlantPaX, Foxboro, 800Xa, ABB, Rockwell, HC900
  • PLC: Modicon, Triconex, Siemens, SLC5, PLC5
  • Legacy Systems: Fisher Provox, Fisher Rs3

Responsibilities

  • DCS configuration and PLC programming, such as: Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Alarm Management, Burner Management, HMI graphics (iFIX), Simple or complex loops, Batch, Ladder logic, SCADA
  • Participate in designing, configuring, testing, debugging and documenting user applications in various software products
  • Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic
  • Act as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially relating to problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Discover inspiring methods that bring great value to the customer by identifying and providing innovative solutions
  • Expertise in implementing automation strategies, optimizing process control, and investigate process control related issues by coordinating with plant process and control engineers
  • Experience with Cloud Based Virtual environments and knowledge of basic network architectures.
  • Plan and execute software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces
