This position will be responsible for the daily communication, media planning, and coordination work at a professional level for the Department for Children and Families involving a wide range of complex policies. This position directs the department's public information and outreach, including public and media relations, social marketing campaigns, social media, website, graphic design, branding, and publications. Duties include media relations, serving as webmaster, digital media messaging, legislative tracking, and testimony preparation. Ideal candidate is adept at juggling multiple, time-sensitive issues, delegating as necessary, and proactively tracking tasks to completion. This position has extensive interactions with department leadership, subject matter experts, directors and managers, other state government and partner agencies, local, state, and federal officials, constituents, and journalists. Duties are performed with significant independence and the Senior Advisor to the Commissioner provides direct supervision. Must be proficient in Accessibility Standards, including plain language. This is an interim position with an anticipated end date of 12/1/26.
