About The Position
Distribution Center Splitters/Pickers are responsible to prepare product for shipment to the retail locations and/or receive product from vendors. This role involves scanning merchandise, printing price tags, breaking down merchandise for shipping, accurate quantity allocation, managing packing slips, loading merchandise, and practicing workplace safety. Additionally, the role includes putting merchandise away, completing daily pick orders, rotating stock, managing bin inventories, and performing routine maintenance on lift trucks.
Requirements
- Computer skills required
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
- Long periods of standing
- Frequent bending and twisting
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
- Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
- Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
- Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
- Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
- Cross check quantities to packing slip, making necessary notations when needed.
- Load merchandise onto proper pallet, shrink wrap when necessary.
- Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits.
- Put merchandise away into proper bin locations.
- Complete daily pick orders for all stores.
- Rotate stock in bins; first in – first out.
- Manage bin inventories and notify manager of discrepancies.
- Routine daily maintenance of lift trucks.
- Other duties as assigned.
