About The Position

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. Saber Power Services seeks a skilled DC Power Technician II to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DC power systems, including batteries, rectifiers, inverters, and other related equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with DC power systems in telecom, utility, or industrial environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–2 years of experience in DC power systems, electrical work, telecommunications, battery maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor, industrial, or construction environments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of DC power systems and battery technologies (VRLA, Li-Ion, Flooded Lead Acid preferred).
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand basic schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong willingness to learn troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • DC Power certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of DC power systems, including battery backup systems, rectifiers, inverters, and power distribution units (PDUs).
  • Support senior technicians with site surveys and power audits to assess equipment condition and identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on DC power systems under supervision.
  • Assist with load testing, battery capacity testing, and system performance checks.
  • Perform routine battery maintenance, including voltage checks, cleaning, temperature monitoring, and assisting with cell replacements.
  • Help ensure proper grounding, cable routing, and cable management practices during installations and maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret basic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, test results, and equipment inventory.
  • Follow all company and industry safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed and assist with emergency or on-call support when required.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
