Position Summary The Distribution Center Operations, Manager is responsible for the overall performance of assigned operational areas within a distribution center or a satellite distribution center facility. In this multifaceted role, you will create and maintain a first-class employee experience with a focus on talent development, employee engagement, staffing and retention, and learning and training. You will also contribute to achieving profit and expense goals, provide the highest possible service to the market customer base, ensure compliance with corporate policies and government regulations, and provide a work-environment conducive to superior productivity, safety, and quality. In addition, you will have direct report responsibility for associates and will support and execute short and long-term strategy for the assigned DC(s), leveraging goals and initiatives from the enterprise and overall supply chain. You will champion innovation by bringing ideas to own DC and the broader organization in an agile way, while balancing growth potential against financial risk and incremental cost to the organization. Availability to work 2nd shift, on-site Monday-Friday from 3:30pm-1am with some additional flexibility is required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive leadership experience in retail, distribution/warehousing, or supply chain operations, including direct oversight of supervisors or frontline leaders.
  • Proven track record of setting and managing facility-level KPIs, using data to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering measurable business impact — e.g., reduced operating costs, improved productivity, quality, or service metrics — with results directly tied to organizational or facility goals.
  • Experience building a culture of accountability, translating enterprise vision and strategic goals into measurable team and individual performance expectations.
  • Demonstrated success leading, developing, and coaching supervisors and frontline leaders, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, WMS, and other distribution center reporting and analytics tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher), with demonstrated ownership of a continuous improvement program and measurable results.
  • Track record of leading facility-wide process redesign or continuous improvement projects with measurable cost, productivity, or quality impact.
  • Prior experience leading in a union environment.
  • Proven ability to drive culture and results.
  • Proven ability to drive successful safety initiatives.
  • Experience managing budgets/P&L and translating financial targets into operational KPIs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with experience in data reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to think and act strategically.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable federal and state laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Able to drive significant, strategic projects to completion independently.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and across teams to collaborate with a variety of peers, leaders, and support partners.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
