About The Position

Responsible for the daily maintenance operations and general appearance of the entire distribution center. This includes selecting, maintaining, and managing operational budget expenses and controls for all material handling devices, power equipment, operational and building support devices, as well as special projects assigned by the DC Facilities and Maintenance Manager. The role involves maintaining and administering all general maintenance requests and services required to support DC operations, supervising daily activities of the maintenance department, and ensuring all contracted services meet company standards and fulfill all obligations in support of the distribution center operation. Additionally, the role manages the inbound and outbound recycling programs for cardboard and plastic, develops programs to extend equipment life and reliability, and coordinates, maintains, and supervises all DC activities relating to equipment, structural devices, and general issues that may impact operations. The DC Maintenance Manager will supervise and coordinate daily maintenance department activities with stated goals of increased efficiency, improved effectiveness, and accountability. They will manage all maintenance related service and supply vendors to ensure accountability of parts and service of all equipment essential to the distribution center operations. Enforcing established safety policies and procedures in order to minimize team-member injuries, operating in accordance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) standards, and ensuring all maintenance team-members understand and comply with all BJ's expectations, rules, and regulations are key responsibilities. The role also oversees building and equipment repair and monitors the preventive maintenance programs to minimize expenses and interruptions to distribution center operations. Managing the flow of all inbound recycled material being returned from the selling clubs and all outbound recycled material to the appropriate vendor is also part of the role. This position is on call 24/7.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in building and material handling equipment maintenance
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment which includes heat, cold, noise and dust.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift and sit for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to work on powered equipment when needed.

Nice To Haves
