About The Position

The Learning Lead is the primary day-to-day training resource for the assigned facility. This working-lead position coordinates training activities, supports Department Trainers, monitors associate progress, maintains training records, and reinforces established training standards. The Learning Lead works closely with the Learning Coordinator, Department Trainers, frontline supervisors, and associates to ensure training is completed effectively, consistently, and on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and coach associates.
  • Basic Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Ability to learn and use LMS and other training systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and associate development.
  • Ability to work throughout an operational environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to conduct and observe hands-on training.
  • Ability to support assigned shift requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift training materials/equipment up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or additional education preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, operations, training, or related environment preferred.
  • Previous Trainer, Department Trainer, Team Lead, or similar experience strongly preferred.
  • LMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily training activities and trainer assignments.
  • Communicate training priorities and schedule changes.
  • Support orientation, onboarding, classroom, hands-on, and refresher training.
  • Monitor associate training progress and identify issues requiring escalation.
  • Adjust training activities based on operational needs in coordination with the Learning Coordinator.
  • Serve as the day-to-day resource for Department Trainers.
  • Provide coaching on training methods, documentation, and standards.
  • Observe trainers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with trainer qualification and certification activities.
  • Escalate trainer performance or coverage concerns to the Learning Coordinator.
  • Monitor new hire progress against established milestones.
  • Support skills assessments and qualification activities.
  • Maintain department skills matrices and certification information.
  • Support cross-training and retraining initiatives.
  • Communicate performance or training gaps to the Learning Coordinator and Operations.
  • Enter and maintain training completion information in the LMS.
  • Maintain attendance, certification, and qualification records.
  • Review records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up on missing documentation and overdue training.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready training records.
  • Ensure trainers have current SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
  • Reinforce Standard Work, safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
  • Identify outdated materials or recurring training gaps.
  • Gather feedback from associates and trainers.
  • Participate in training and continuous-improvement initiatives.
