About The Position

The DC Equipment Operator plays a critical role in the efficient operation of a distribution center by safely and effectively handling various types of material handling equipment. This position ensures the timely movement, loading, and unloading of goods within the facility, directly impacting inventory accuracy and overall supply chain performance. The operator is responsible for maintaining equipment in good working condition and adhering to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and damage. Collaboration with warehouse staff and supervisors is essential to coordinate daily tasks and meet operational goals. Ultimately, the role supports the seamless flow of products from receipt to shipment, contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification or equivalent training.
• Proven experience operating material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move products within the distribution center.
• Load and unload trucks efficiently while ensuring the safety of goods and personnel.
• Inspect equipment daily to identify maintenance needs and report any malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and equipment usage as required.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet shipping deadlines.
• Assist with general warehouse duties such as stacking, sorting, and organizing inventory.
