About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and managing a team within a distribution center, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity. The supervisor will direct daily operations, manage employee performance, ensure compliance with procedures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include hiring, coaching, performance management, and processing payroll, all while coordinating with other departments and leadership to achieve operational goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience with responsibility for directing and evaluating employee performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, make decisions, and drive results.
  • Experience with workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
  • Familiarity with warehouse systems (e.g., AS400, JDA), RF scanners, and voice-picking technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education in supply chain or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or supply chain environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage team performance by setting expectations, monitoring results, and ensuring accountability for safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Direct the work of crew members, including assigning tasks, prioritizing workflow, and adjusting staffing to meet operational needs.
  • Own the hiring, onboarding, discipline, and termination process for assigned department crew members in partnership with HR and Area Manager.
  • Coach and develop crew members, including conducting performance discussions, providing feedback, and supporting career development.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; take immediate action to address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Oversee operational processes to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Own department-level KPI performance, including tracking, reporting, and implementing corrective action plans to close gaps in productivity, accuracy, and service levels.
  • Lead daily shift meetings and department stand-ups to align crew on goals, communicate operational priorities, and review prior-shift performance results.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives, including the application of Lean principles.
  • Coordinate with leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and execution of operational goals.
  • Process department payroll including timecard review, exception resolution, and compliance with scheduling and overtime policies.
