About The Position

RahrBSG is looking for a Part Time DC Associate at our location in Airdrie, Alberta location. The DC Associate receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within a distribution center. The DC Associate supports key initiatives of the company by successfully completing operational responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, safety, and cost control are prioritized.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three months related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Goal-driven contributor that understands operational metrics and takes ownership of individual and team results.
  • Ability to work independently and use judgment to make decisions and recommend and/or implement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine the items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Operates forkflifts to transfer goods and materials from production or receiving sites to storage or other designated areas, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Builds, wraps, sorts, and transports pallets using warehouse and production equipment.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on/in racks, shelves, or bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Marks materials with identifying information based on standard operating procedures. Uses the information to monitor expiration dates and rotate stock accordingly.
  • Completes requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and assists in purchasing warehouse supplies and repack containers.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and prepares orders for shipment by courier or less than truckload freight (LTL).
  • Creates shipping labels for couriers and LTL freight.
  • Loads and unloads all truck orders. Ensures loads are secured in outbound trucks.
  • Completes weekly maintenance of forklift and engages repair service as needed.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items by weighing or counting products prior to receipt into inventory.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Uses technology, such as computers or handheld devices, to accurately enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets to organize production of repacks or sample preparation.
  • Maintains inventory records and participates in cycle counting.
  • Accountable to operational metrics for productivity, inventory, and safety goals.
  • Adheres to FDA, State, City, and Company guidelines for food safety handling and facility sanitation.
  • Adheres to OSHA, State, City, and Company guidelines for developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the company and operational needs.
