About The Position

The Sun Life DBTS High School Experience Program is a paid, in-person internship designed to give high school students a meaningful introduction to the professional workplace while exploring potential career paths in technology, business, and related fields. This immersive, short-term program allows students to gain hands-on experience, learn from dedicated mentors, and develop practical skills in a real corporate environment. This program will run from Monday, June 15th, 2026 through Friday, June 26th, 2026. The program is open to current high school students and recent 2026 graduates who are eager to learn, curious about the world of work, and interested in gaining early career exposure. Students participate onsite at the Kansas City office for the two week program. During the program, students are paired with a mentor or host team and spend the majority of their time working on projects and tasks that support day-to-day business operations. Work may include research, documentation, presentations, data analysis, or technology-focused assignments depending on the student’s role and interests. In addition to project work, students engage in career development activities such as networking sessions, leadership talks, and job-shadowing opportunities that provide a realistic “day-in-the-life” look at working at Sun Life. Students are encouraged to ask questions, build confidence, and begin developing professional communication and collaboration skills. This program is ideal for students who are motivated, dependable, and interested in learning more about potential future careers. Successful participants bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and strong communication skills. No prior professional experience is required!
