About The Position

Keeping the data layer fast, resilient, and production-ready — from query optimization to cloud-managed database operations at scale. Focused on the incorporation of LLMs and GenAI in SaaS-like products within specialized domains.

Requirements

• Experience in software engineering; AI Engineers with solid software engineering foundations are preferred.
• Solid hands-on experience administering MySQL in production environments (performance tuning, troubleshooting, replication)
• Proven experience with AWS database services, particularly RDS and DMS
• Strong ability to analyze and optimize query execution, indexing strategies, and database configuration
• Experience with backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery planning
• Advanced English — both written and spoken, for client and team communication

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PostgreSQL administration
• Familiarity with NoSQL engines (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, or similar)
• Experience with data streaming tools such as Kinesis or Kafka
• Knowledge of scripting or automation for database tasks (Python, Bash)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana)

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain MySQL databases in production environments
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues: slow queries, lock contention, index design, execution plans
• Manage and operate cloud database services on AWS (RDS, DMS), including provisioning, patching, backups, and failover
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies
• Perform and coordinate database migrations using AWS DMS and related tooling
• Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design, query optimization, and capacity planning
• Define and enforce database security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
• Document procedures, runbooks, and change management protocols
