The position also involves data warehousing data population and data modeling techniques (Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, highly normalized data models), experience with GUI based ETL tools (Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar), and implementation experience with enterprise-class databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and analytical/reporting tools (Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, etc.). The role requires experience with the entire data warehouse implementation process, including business requirements, logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing, data transformation, data loading, SQL, end-user tools, and database/SQL. The candidate must have proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups and manage multiple responsibilities. Experience with Oracle Database, SSRS report creation, and M204 database is also required. The job description emphasizes the ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure systems, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Responsibilities include entering codes to create production databases, monitoring database performance, directing changes to the data base management system, reviewing and correcting programs, answering user questions, conferring with coworkers on the impact of database changes, and modifying database programs for performance tuning. The role involves providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring consistency between application design phases and database parameters. It also includes evaluating user requests for new data elements and systems, incorporating them into the existing data environment, and providing technical assistance. Coordination of data usage for integrity and redundancy control, database loading, and reorganization are key. The position requires performing data modeling and prototyping, logical and physical data modeling, designing relational database models, and creating physical data models. Security recovery procedures, determining and implementing database search strategies and storage requirements, and maintaining the data dictionary are also part of the role. Monitoring database performance, recommending efficiency improvements, creating test database environments, and executing procedures for database saving, retrieval, and recovery are essential. The role assists with determining, implementing, and enhancing database security standards, monitoring agency disaster recovery procedures, and assisting with database software installation, analysis, design, and implementation. Benchmarking and threshold testing of databases, establishing and controlling database security, and assisting in the selection of database management software are also included. Knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies is required, ensuring user interfaces are compliant and providing support for data access issues related to accessibility. Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment security review.
