About The Position

Lead daytime field execution for Publix remodeling projects throughout the Southeast. Serve as the primary on-site leader for active-store renovations ranging from targeted refreshes to full reconfigurations and expansions. Oversee subcontractors, phasing, logistics, safety, quality, schedule, and day-to-day operations while minimizing disruption to the store and its customers. Established commercial general contractor with a long-standing presence throughout the Southeast. Extensive experience in retail and grocery construction, including long-term programs with nationally recognized clients. Known for integrity, quality execution, strong client relationships, and repeat business. Project portfolio includes retail remodels, grocery, commercial, industrial, healthcare, fuel centers, and multifamily construction.

Requirements

5+ years of experience leading commercial construction projects as a Superintendent.
Strong experience with Publix remodels or comparable grocery renovations performed within active, occupied stores.
Proven ability to manage phased construction, subcontractors, schedules, logistics, inspections, and quality control.
Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, safety, and production.
OSHA 30 certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
Procore experience preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel based on project assignments.

Nice To Haves

Experience coordinating grocery-specific scopes such as refrigeration, MEP systems, fixtures, finishes, and operational shutdowns is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day field operations for daytime Publix remodeling projects from mobilization through punch list and final turnover.
Establish staging plans and manage site logistics, workflow, and construction phasing within active grocery stores.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, store representatives, and project management to maintain production and schedule.
Manage material deliveries, inspections, shutdowns, occupied work areas, and phased turnovers.
Review subcontractor scopes, submittals, plans, specifications, and change directives for field coordination.
Maintain project schedules, look-ahead plans, daily reports, safety documentation, and progress updates.
Promote job-site safety, conduct safety and progress meetings, and immediately address potential hazards.
Monitor quality, cleanliness, and client requirements throughout construction.
Identify and resolve field challenges before they affect store operations, schedule, or turnover.
