About The Position

Annandale Village is a nonprofit community in Suwanee, GA, serving adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License.
  • Must have proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
  • Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
  • Must undergo and pass a drug screening.
  • Must undergo and pass a screening for Tuberculosis.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to count, add, and subtract.
  • Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Employee is required to transport (drive) and assist Villagers in and out of vehicles.
  • Employee is required to perform CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in all areas of Programs, including transportation for Villagers for work, shopping, outings, and on-campus transport.
  • Monitoring the cafeteria as assigned.
  • Assisting Program Instructors.
  • Assisting the Academic & Arts, Recreation, Music, and Vocational Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
  • Assisting with Saturday programming.
  • Providing substitute coverage for Program Instructors during leave times, meetings, emergencies, and/or vacancies.
  • Monitoring meals, field trips, and special events.
  • Providing transportation, on and off campus as assigned.
  • Monitoring attendance and participation of day program participants.
  • Monitoring Villager behavior and assisting staff to manage inappropriate behavior; documenting according to policy.
  • Helping Villagers with hygiene as needed.
  • Providing input regarding behavioral support plans, goal attainment, and participation.
  • Documenting in the electronic record system.
  • Assisting with upkeep of equipment, supplies, and other operating materials.
  • Assisting in keeping the facility clean and safe.
  • Assisting Program Instructors and the Activity Coordinator with planning and implementing special events, parties, and field trips.
  • Providing monitoring at the dining hall as assigned.
  • Attending all required and assigned trainings and meetings.
  • Performing other duties that may be necessary to meet the personal service and care of the Villagers.
