Experienced Daytime Caregiver
About The Position
Assisting Hands Home Care – Birmingham South is looking for compassionate, dependable Day Shift Caregivers to provide exceptional one-on-one care to clients throughout Birmingham and surrounding communities. This role offers daytime hours, flexible scheduling, and meaningful one-on-one client care. As an Assisting Hands Caregiver, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and other adults who want to remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. We are currently seeking caregivers with DAYTIME AVAILABILITY, including morning and afternoon shifts, with consideration of 6:30am-6:30pm availability.
Requirements
- Previous caregiving, home care, senior care, or related healthcare experience preferred
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to safely assist clients with mobility when required
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Reliable daytime availability
- Successful completion of required background screening and reference checks
Nice To Haves
- Weekend availability is a plus
- CPR Certification desired. If no CPR, willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire or before hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with meal preparation and nutrition needs
- Perform light housekeeping and help maintain a clean, safe home environment
- Provide transportation and assistance with errands when required
- Observe and document changes in the client's condition or well-being
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Assisting Hands care team
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with clients and their families
