About The Position

This role is for a Daycare Teacher responsible for caring for infants, toddlers, and children from 6 weeks to 10 years in a state-certified drop-in daycare. The daycare operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week. The job involves indoor activities with daily outdoor play. A Central Background Registry (CBR) Number is required, and applicants without one should start the free process immediately after applying, as it can be lengthy. The position is available for both full-time and part-time roles.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have completed 20 credits worth of training at a college/university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Must have experience working with infants, children, and toddlers.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Current & valid OR Food Handler’s card, First Aid, and CPR.
Must have a Central Background Registry (CBR) Number.
Weekday & weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Supervising a designated group of children daily, with Aides assisting in daily functions. Aides are unable to be unsupervised without a Teacher.
Cleaning and organizing equipment.
Attending to the daily needs of the children in their care.
Leading group activities and art projects.
Serving food.
Documenting children’s attendance, medical needs, and personal specifics reported by parents.
Nurturing, comforting, and changing diapers for infants and toddlers.
