About The Position

This role is for a Daycare Teacher at Mt. Bachelor, responsible for caring for infants, toddlers, and children from 6 weeks to 10 years in a state-certified drop-in daycare. The daycare operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week, with indoor activities and daily outdoor play. A Central Background Registry (CBR) Number is required, and the application process for this can be lengthy, so it is advised to start immediately if you do not have one. The position is available for both full-time and part-time roles.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have completed 20 credits worth of training at a college/university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Must have experience working with infants, children, and toddlers.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Current & valid OR Food Handler’s card, First Aid, and CPR.
Able to bend and lift constantly throughout the day.
Ability to shovel snow and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
Weekday & weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

Supervising a designated group of children daily, with Aides assisting in daily functions. Aides are unable to be unsupervised without a Teacher in the room.
Cleaning and organizing equipment.
Attending to the daily needs of the children in their care.
Leading group activities, art projects, and serving food.
Documenting children’s attendance, medical needs, and personal specifics reported by parents.
Nurturing, comforting, and changing diapers for infants and toddlers.
