About The Position

The Daycare Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of a childcare facility by providing attentive care and supervision to young children. This position ensures a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of each child. The assistant collaborates closely with lead teachers and caregivers to implement age-appropriate activities and routines that foster learning and creativity. Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization within the daycare setting to uphold health and safety standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with state childcare regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in CPR and First Aid for infants and children.
  • Early Childhood Education coursework or credential.
  • Experience with children who have special needs or behavioral challenges.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse families.
  • Previous training in child safety and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, naps, and educational activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist lead teachers in preparing and facilitating age-appropriate learning activities and crafts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment by tidying play areas, sanitizing toys, and following health protocols.
  • Observe and report any behavioral or developmental concerns to the lead teacher or daycare director.
  • Support children with personal care tasks such as diapering, toileting, and handwashing as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding daily activities, milestones, and any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and regulatory requirements.
