Day Warehouse Receiving Supervisor

Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Day Warehouse Supervisor based out of our Des Moines, IA Headquarters. We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest region for over 130 years. We distribute to 11 different states across our 5 locations. This position will report up to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for supervising a group of warehouse employees. Assigning tasks as necessary to ensure that work is complete and proper usage of available resources. This role will assist in shipping/receiving, loading and unloading of trucks, and checking-in merchandise. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse supervisory experience, collaborate effectively and professionally with the team, and will lead by example.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred with 2-4 years of related experience
- Previous Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience required
- Must be a self-directed individual with the ability to read and interpret company documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must have the ability to perform basic math calculations
- Obtain licensure to operate warehouse equipment within the first 30 days
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervising a group of warehouse employees.
- Assigning tasks as necessary to ensure that work is complete and proper usage of available resources.
- Assisting in shipping/receiving, loading and unloading of trucks, and checking-in merchandise.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment at all times and follow all safety guidelines.
- Maintaining a warehouse that is accessible and safe for company personnel and LFF visitors.
- Reading pick tickets and/or requisitions to select and assemble product for customer orders.
- Implementing established food safety practices throughout all warehouse employees.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
