The Day Trainer supports adults with developmental disabilities by implementing Individual Service Plans and providing training designed to increase independence, community engagement, life skills, and personal growth. This role combines classroom instruction, documentation, client support, and transportation responsibilities in a mission-driven environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with diverse populations.
DSP certification or ability to obtain.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and follow instructions
Maintain accurate documentation
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Ability to develop positive relationships
Demonstrate patience and empathy
Work collaboratively with others
Provide person-centered support to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to respond appropriately to changing situations

Make sound decisions while supporting client safety and program goals.
Ability to manage training materials, classroom supplies, client records, and program resources while maintaining organization and efficiency.
Responsible for tracking attendance, documenting services provided, monitoring client progress, and ensuring records are completed accurately and on time.
Ability to use service documentation systems, client management databases, goal-tracking tools, and incident reporting platforms.
Capable of maintaining accurate electronic records, completing required documentation, and supporting program operations through effective use of technology and agency systems.
Proficient Computer Skills In: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Client Management Systems.
Must demonstrate a commitment to trauma-informed principles, interventions, and practices in all aspects of service delivery.
Recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma on children, families, staff, and communities and applies trauma-informed approaches that promote safety, trust, empowerment, and healing.
Creates supportive and respectful environments that minimize the risk of re-traumatization and participates in ongoing professional development to strengthen trauma-informed knowledge and skills.
