About The Position

Help create memorable experiences across Southern Oregon as a Day Tour Driver with the City of Medford’s Parks, Recreation & Facilities team. In this role, you will safely transport participants to regional destinations, provide a welcoming and professional experience, and help each trip run smoothly from departure to return. This is a great opportunity for a dependable, customer-focused driver who enjoys being on the road, staying organized, and helping others enjoy their day. Qualified candidates with strong driving skills, a calm and professional approach, and knowledge of Southern Oregon destinations are encouraged to apply!

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of driving experience.
  • Must have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
  • Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Favorable driving record
  • Clear drug screen following federal law (which includes testing for cannabis)
  • Professional reference check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving larger vehicles.
  • Knowledge of Southern Oregon.
  • Familiarity of Southern Oregon destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the City’s vehicle to transport participants to and from destinations in accordance with established safety standards and traffic laws of the State of Oregon.
  • Arrive at destinations on schedule.
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
  • Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Interact with clients professionally at all times.
  • Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; notifies supervisor of any vehicle repairs as needed.
  • Administers general first aid when needed.
  • Performs minor housekeeping tasks in vehicle to assure vehicle presents a positive image.
  • Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrate good written communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
  • Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
