About The Position

The Shift Supervisor adds value to our Customers and our Co-Workers by overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse during assigned shifts. The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in leading and motivating the warehouse team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.   • Good computer skills with the ability to read and use reports in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • 3-5 years previous warehouse and leadership experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (reach truck, forklift etc) safely and efficiently an asset
  • Logistics experience an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team to maintain high morale and develop high potential team members; Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals/ daily priorities, expectations, and updates; Maintain a presence in the warehouse and promote company policies and procedures, and model company values; address performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee all warehouse activities including hiring and scheduling of staff, timesheet approvals, filing incident reports etc.; Ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time; Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure the warehouse team achieves productivity targets, providing feedback, reviews, coaching and development as needed
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment; Conduct regular safety audits and ensure required training and onboarding occurs and is tracked for the team
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the warehouse team, management and other departments to ensure smooth operations; Provide regular updates and reports to the Manager - DC
  • Resolve operational and customer related issues and challenges efficiently; Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
