About The Position

Join our team supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a warm, welcoming day program. As a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll help participants build confidence and independence socially, physically, and emotionally, while keeping their safety and dignity front and center. Day to day, you'll support participants with hygiene, meals, and mobility, and help bring individualized program plans to life through engaging activities and community outings. You'll keep documentation current in our agency systems, safely transport participants in agency vehicles, and foster an inclusive, respectful environment. When behavioral or emergency situations come up, you'll respond with a calm, steady presence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain Medication Administration certification (if required).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfort with basic software.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care.
  • Ability to perform lifting, transfers, personal care, and mobility support.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach.
