About The Position

The Day Program Administrative Director (DPAD) works in close cooperation with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee and direct the operation and management of Rogerson Communities’ adult day health facilities and health programs. Responsibilities include: ensuring their compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, with Rogerson’s policies and procedures, and with their respective budgets and operating plans. The (DPAD) will also report out to the Chief Financial Officer all administrative functions such as review of staffing ratios, budget management/control, quality metrics, community partnerships, review of payment request authorizations with Finance Manager, and general correspondence.

Requirements

  • Sensitivity and understanding regarding the needs of elder and disabled persons and families.
  • Demonstrated expertise in management of adult day programs, and/or related facilities and services, including responsibility for community and public relations; administrative, financial and facility management.
  • Demonstrated leadership in development of new programs or facilities.
  • Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s college degree in health, social services or related field with at least 5 years responsibility for management of adult day health programs and services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and significant experience in developing and successfully implementing new programs and services for disabled adults and elders.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of low-income older adults.
  • Positive attitude, energetic, assertive, and capable role model for subordinates.
  • Demonstrated integrity on personal as well as professional level.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, computer, and management skills.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Public Health, MassHealth and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations and ability to put them into practice.
  • Familiarity with provider services such as Senior Care Options (SCO), One Care, Area Service Access Points (ASAP) regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively with a wide range of people in person and by phone, and to sensitively resolve problems involving clients, families, staff, and emergency occurrences.
  • Ability to visit each program on a regular basis to monitor for quality programming, regulatory compliance and respond to personnel, programmatic and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain understanding of all applicable regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
  • Oversee and monitor marketing and client utilization of the programs.
  • Expand and further develop Adult Day Programs and Wellness Programs assuring that optimum quality services are provided to meet and maintain the social, recreational, emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs of participants.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing review of each participant’s individual plan of care.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor internal management systems to facilitate scheduling and coordination of services and for the collection of pertinent participant data.
  • Provide operational direction for all support programmatic responses to gaps in safety measures related to incidents/accidents.
  • Oversee program payroll.
  • Work closely with Activity Coordinator to identify and implement innovative programs that both improve experiences for our clients and attract sustainable funding resources.
  • Manage all DPH-mandated consultation for all day programs including: Dietary consultation (biannual), OT/Activities consultation (quarterly) and LICSW consultation (as required).
  • Facilitate the day programs’ Operations Meeting including: Agenda, meeting facilitation and action item follow-up.
  • Supervise ADH management team with oversight of all ADH staff. Provide direct support to them for accurate development and management of programs to the operating budgets, staffing plans, activities, clinical and other wellness services.
  • Facilitate recruitment, hiring, education/training and general supervision of all staff, volunteers and contractors.
  • Manage employee turnover.
  • Provide oversight for personnel compliance including all required annual employee training/service.
  • Provide ongoing support to all day programs related to personnel concerns including corrective action, leaves, transition/ terminations.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with monitoring agencies and service vendors.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with community agencies including MASDA and other organizations that support adult day health and wellness programs.
  • Work closely with Chief Financial Officer on all new program assignments and locations to develop income projections, marketing, staffing plans, polices, procedures, budgets, capital needs, recruiting, training, and other program development needs.
  • Manage all community education programs including: Elementary/middle school intergenerational programs, nursing preceptorship, social work internships, high school career internships, and college internships.
  • Conduct research and complex data analysis (social, economic, cultural, political, and emotional drivers) to frame challenges and opportunities in lay terms that facilitate executive decision making and strategic alignment.
  • Act as liaison to the Roslindale House/Florence House management team regarding: Safety, joint programming, community supports and shared consumer care planning.
  • Facilitate and Manage project and data reporting for Quarterly DPH-mandated improvement structures including: Participant and Family Advisory Council and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
