About The Position

The Day Porter will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. This role requires performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, maintaining daily upkeep of assigned areas, and reporting any incidents or hazardous conditions to the supervisor. The Day Porter must comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and work collaboratively with team members. They will also be responsible for performing repetitive tasks, maintaining a clean work area, and following all protocols and company procedures. Additionally, the Day Porter will take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers. This role involves filling in during staff shortages, supporting shift leads with punch-list items, using proper personal protective equipment, and presenting a professional appearance and conduct. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, is also key.

Requirements

  • No specific education requirement
  • 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license
  • Completed all safety and task training certification
  • May be required to be forklift certified
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
