About The Position
The Day Porter will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. This role requires performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The position involves working collaboratively with other employees, performing repetitive tasks, and maintaining a clean work area while adhering to all company procedures and safety protocols. A professional appearance and conduct are expected, along with an understanding of customer service and satisfaction.
Requirements
- No specific education requirement
- 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Completed all safety and task training certification
- May be required to be forklift certified
- Bilingual a plus
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
- Employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen
- Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial duties
- Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Maintain clean work area
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
- Take direction and respond to supervision
- Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
- Fill in during staff shortage
- Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
- Use proper personal protective equipment
- Present a professional appearance and conduct
- Understand customer service and satisfaction
- Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
