Day Porter
About The Position
The Day Porter will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. This role involves performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The Day Porter must also report incidents and hazardous conditions to their supervisor, comply with safety rules, and work collaboratively with team members. The position requires performing repetitive tasks, maintaining a clean work area, and following all company protocols and procedures. Additionally, the Day Porter must be able to take direction, communicate professionally with colleagues and customers, and present a professional appearance and conduct. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, is also important.
Requirements
- No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
- Completed all safety and task training certification.
- May be required to be forklift certified.
- Bilingual a plus
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

- Fill in during staff shortage
- Support shift lead in completing punch-list items

- Present a professional appearance and conduct
- Understand customer service and satisfaction
- Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
