About The Position

The production relief person must know and understand every job in the production area. Hours and days off will vary from week to week. Always adheres to all USDA, GMP and safety regulations. When not providing relief, this position may be assigned to the packaging department based upon business need. Responsible for maintaining a clear, orderly, and neat work area. Respect Physical Demands of job listed in “Physical Demands” section below. Attendance at work is an essential job duty. Job requires regular attendance and work to be performed at the Tulare-Levin plant site. All other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures including use of safety equipment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess good communication, math, statistical, and computer skills.
  • Good mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Being able to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and squat for several minutes at a time.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for at least a two hour consecutive time period.
  • Must be able to lift up to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Must be able to enter into confined spaces.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
  • Employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner.
  • Work well with other employees.
  • Follow and understand all of the “Standard Operating Procedures.”
  • Obtain a pasteurizer’s license within three attempts.
  • Obtain a forklift operators license.
  • Pasteurize milk and milk products according to the law.
  • Perform the following jobs on all shifts: HTST, starter maker, vat operator, belts, RMC operator, sanitation clean-up, brine operator, rework, packaging, dry cookers.
  • Must be able to run all equipment efficiently.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clear, orderly, and neat work area.
  • All other assigned duties.
  • Practicing GMP’s and appropriate food defense techniques.
