About The Position

The Day Lab Technician is responsible for performing daily laboratory operations, including quality testing, auditing, and inspection activities to ensure product quality standards are consistently met. This role supports plant operations by maintaining accurate quality records, identifying product trends, maintaining laboratory equipment, and communicating quality concerns to plant leadership while fostering a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/Degree
  • Years of experience 3
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Leadership experience
  • Valid Driver’s License (if required) and qualified through our company insurance/Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Policy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of Quality Control or laboratory experience.
  • Experience performing sieve, crush, and turbidity testing.
  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing or mining environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment that is always "tour ready."
  • Organize laboratory testing areas and sample storage locations.
  • Manage laboratory supplies, ensuring proper storage and adequate inventory levels.
  • Perform laboratory testing of sand samples in accordance with established testing procedures.
  • Conduct sieve testing, crush testing, and turbidity testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing results.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to testing activities and assigned projects.
  • Analyze quality data and identify non-conforming materials or missing quality information.
  • Investigate recurring quality issues and communicate findings and trends to plant management.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in proper operating condition.
  • Perform daily inspections of laboratory equipment and sample ports.
  • Attend required company training programs.
  • Complete assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Follow work instructions and established operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with plant management to support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
