About The Position

Open the building for daily building operations and occupancy. Inspect the Building. Notify Plant Manager if a possible equipment issue is observed. Maintain the outside of the building to ensure a clean and safe environment for staff, students and guests.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Must have the ability to perform the duties required of the position.
Must participate in District training on proper cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning supplies.
Must be able to lift up to 51 lbs.
Must be able to work alone with limited supervision.
Must be able to work on your feet for over 90% of the work day.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in cleaning and some work experience.
Time management skills.

Responsibilities

Open the building and perform an overall building inspection.
Walk the outside grounds to make sure the campus is free of all trash.
Maintain clean outdoor entrances (mats, garbage cans).
Responsible for the daily cleaning of assigned areas.
Observe and maintain the security and safety of the building.
Report to individuals in charge if any unauthorized individuals or suspicious behavior is observed.
Be willing to learn how to recognize problems within the building operating systems, i.e. AHU's, interior and exterior lighting, bells, clocks, and preset schedules, in order to inform the Plant Manager or person in charge of the issue.
Report/meet daily with the Plant Manager 1 about specific needs or schedules in the building.
Have the ability to operate a push mower; be responsible for maintaining the courtyards.
Work with and care for District cleaning equipment and tools used.
Report any repairs when discovered.
Assist the building's Preventative Maintenance Tech when asked.
Be available to relieve the (later) day janitor for their scheduled lunch period.
Participate in any special cleaning projects in the building that may be scheduled with the Plant Manager.
In inclement weather, assist to clean and treat sidewalks and walkways around the entrances of the building to ensure safe passage of staff and students.
Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School District Board of Education.
Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Business Operations, or his/her designee.
