About The Position
The Arc Erie County NY is a leading nonprofit supporting people with developmental & intellectual disabilities across Western New York, through innovative residential, educational, clinical and employment services. This position involves direct interaction and hands-on support with adults with developmental disabilities. Some days are incredibly rewarding, but the work can also require patience, teamwork, and consistency.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License w/ approved record
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferred
Responsibilities
- Supports individuals with disabilities in a center-based program
- Teach daily living, social, and adaptive skills to increase independence
- May take individuals on community outings
- Document progress to help our people achieve their goals
- Be a positive role model and part of a supportive team
