About The Position

The Summer Day Camp Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children participating in the summer day camp program. This role includes supervising campers, leading activities, maintaining discipline, and helping create a positive experience that supports each child’s growth, learning, and enjoyment throughout the summer.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and engage children in various activities.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Experience in leading specific activities such as arts and crafts, sports, or educational programs.
Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures.
Bilingual abilities are an asset.

Responsibilities

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, sports, Bible lessons, educational activities, and group events.
Maintain a structured, positive, and energetic camp environment.
Manage camper behavior with consistency, fairness, and appropriate discipline.
Assist with daily check-in and check-out procedures.
Communicate effectively with camp leadership regarding camper needs, incidents, concerns, or behavioral issues.
Help prepare activity spaces and maintain cleanliness and organization of camp areas.
Participate in special events, field trips, water days, or other camp activities as assigned.
Serve as a positive role model in attitude, appearance, conduct, and interaction with children and families.
Follow all camp policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.
