About The Position

Seeking a responsible Day Camp Counselor (Lead counselor and support staff) to supervise and guide activities for campers aged 6-13. The counselor will provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers to have fun social experiences. This role involves leading activities such as arts and crafts and encouraging children's creativity. The counselor will typically supervise no more than 6 children at a time, often with the assistance of another counselor or the Children's & Youth Ministry Director.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Able to develop positive rapport with campers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliability

Nice To Haves

  • Child Care/Camp Counseling/ Teaching experience
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers.
  • Instruction and facilitation (or assist with) of indoor and outdoor activities on campus.
  • Oversee the health and safety of campers.
  • Utilize approved safety practices.
  • Provide appropriate First Aid and submit written reports to Health Supervisor.
  • Create and supervise an emotionally healthy environment for campers.
  • Complete designated paperwork, reports, etc.
  • Organize classroom setting.
  • Preparation before and after kids arrive.
