They may also take on assigned bonus jobs with other departments and perform other duties as directed by their supervisor. There are no supervisory responsibilities. The physical environment includes indoor and outdoor work in heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, and arid conditions. The role requires activities such as sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, hiking, shouting, lifting or carrying 15–60 pounds, and engaging in physical play with children. Counselors may be assigned to support campers with special needs through the One-on-One program.
