About The Position

The Salvation Army is seeking a Day Camp Coordinator for a full-time seasonal position to assist with the running of the Corps Summer Camp Program. This role involves assisting in hiring staff, establishing and maintaining programs, and providing creative oversight and direction for the daily Summer Day Camp Program. The coordinator will also be involved with staff hiring, orientation, and supervision. A key aspect of this role is interacting with parents and campers, fostering an exceptional experience of spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual enhancement. The Day Camp Coordinator must maintain a positive and professional demeanor and perform other duties as assigned. This position requires undertaking tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements

  • Completed degree (Bachelor's or Master's).
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in directing similar programs.
  • Strong interest in educational development of children.
  • A relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Strong Work Ethic.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Flexible.
  • Basic Technology Skills.
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check.
  • PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the running of the Corps Summer Camp Program.
  • Assist in hiring of staff.
  • Establish and maintain programs during the summer.
  • Provide creative oversight and direction with every aspect of the daily Summer Day Camp Program.
  • Be involved with hiring staff, orientation, and supervision.

  • Work side by side with parents and campers for an exceptional experience of spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual enhancement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with members, guests, colleagues, and the community.
