About The Position

DAY 6 is an evening program designed to re-engage students who have dropped out of Everett High School. The program aims to identify and re-engage these students, understanding that many wish to complete their high school education but face barriers. The goal is to expand re-engagement efforts by establishing EHS as a Saturday/Night Center for students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out. This role involves supporting re-engaged students and staff within a program that offers comprehensive support, including GED/HISET support, MCAS tutoring, job readiness and placement, and life skills/career exploration.

Requirements

  • Experience in school administration or school counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Re-Engagement Specialist to create a database of eligible students for Day 6.
  • Create needs assessments and graduation audits.
  • Identify paths for students to graduate with a post-secondary or workforce plan.
  • Coordinate tutors and their roles in the Day 6 program.
  • Build partnerships with outside organizations to support students transitioning in and out of the program.
  • Develop success plans for each student.
  • Work with the Guidance Department Chair and Re-Engagement Specialist to ensure program scope aligns with district policies and mission.
  • Facilitate student outreach.
