About The Position

Protiviti is seeking a Technology Consulting Senior Manager for its Enterprise Data & Analytics team. The Senior Manager partners with clients to identify and manage risk, develop strategies for complex business problems, and deliver solutions using modern tools and methods. The role builds and maintains client relationships, represents Protiviti in the business community, mentors and develops teams, and oversees successful completion of project work plans.

The position focuses on designing, delivering, and optimizing modern data engineering and analytics solutions with Databricks. It includes advising on data strategy and architecture, assessing and migrating existing data solutions, implementing governance and security, and leading data platform and engineering work. The Senior Manager also contributes to business development, proposals, client strategies, and team development.

Protiviti uses a hybrid workplace model combining purposeful in-person work and remote work. The balance varies by client, project, team, and other business factors. Work may take place at local Protiviti offices and client sites, with local or out-of-state travel depending on project and client needs. The listed location is Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as MIS, CIS, or Analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience working in professional services or a related industry.
• Required professional Databricks certification: Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional.
• Experience articulating the value of Databricks and using data storytelling to guide decision-making.
• Experience formulating, communicating, and executing data strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Advanced ability to architect future-state data solutions using Databricks-aligned Well-Architected Frameworks.
• Strong experience implementing ETL processes and databases using Databricks or complementary solutions.
• Significant experience optimizing data implementations, including pipelines, queries, and data models.
• Proficiency in data engineering, including data movement, integration, transformation, and cleansing.
• Ability to lead the design, management, and optimization of data warehousing or modern data platforms.
• Strong data modeling skills, including entity-relationship, dimensional, and semantic modeling.
• Experience with data analytics, exploratory analysis, and deriving actionable insights.
• Understanding of data security practices, including encryption and access control, and networking for Databricks deployments.
• Understanding of DevOps or DataOps concepts and experience deploying Databricks solutions.
• Expertise in SQL and Spark, including PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Competency with at least three of the listed Databricks technology areas and exposure to most of them.
• Experience establishing professional networks, pursuing business development opportunities, and obtaining new work or clients.
• Direct supervisory and team leadership experience, including performance appraisals, mentoring, coaching, work review, and coordination across teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to identify and manage risk and develop strategies to solve complex business problems.
• Design, deliver, and optimize modern data engineering solutions using Databricks and related technologies.
• Build lasting client relationships through high-quality delivery and serve as a Protiviti ambassador in the market.
• Oversee project work plans and manage deliverables to successful completion.
• Mentor, coach, and develop teams, including coordinating work and conducting performance appraisals.
• Promote positive team culture, open communication, collaboration, and professional development.
• Contribute to client proposals, strategies, business development, and efforts to win new work.
• Assess existing on-premises and cloud data solutions and develop improvement initiatives.
• Plan and lead migrations from on-premises, other cloud platforms, or legacy systems to Databricks.
• Architect, implement, administer, secure, and optimize data platforms, pipelines, databases, and data warehouses.
• Implement data governance frameworks and policies, including management of data assets using Unity Catalog.
• Translate and communicate issues, risks, and challenges to client personnel, including executives.
• Develop business relationships and a professional network, including with senior executives.
