About The Position

The Database Team Lead is responsible for engineering and administering database environments for the U.S. Army Product Lead Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Enterprise Systems and Services (PL ALTESS). The role includes architecting infrastructure; installing and configuring database software and environments; and maintaining deployed environments to meet availability and performance standards. The position also assists with scheduling deployment activity and new database installations, develops security standards, ensures databases meet ALTESS and Army security requirements, and develops and maintains database monitoring and administrative dashboards to support proactive database management.

Requirements

• Senior database administration experience deploying and managing databases that support customer applications.
• Thorough knowledge of Cyber Command Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) processes and procedures.
• Ability to perform a Security Readiness Review (SRR) and document findings in a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
• Experience in database administration and architecture.
• Five or more years of experience with application server architecture in a large enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud database environments.
• Knowledge of database administration responsibilities.
• Ability to relate to customers in a professional manner.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Python and PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IAVM.

Responsibilities

• Architect database infrastructure and install and configure database software and configurations across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud database environments.
• Maintain deployed database environments to meet availability and performance standards.
• Assist in scheduling deployment activity and new database installations.
• Develop database security standards and ensure databases meet ALTESS and Army security requirements.
• Develop and maintain database monitoring and administrative dashboards for proactive database management.
• Perform senior database administration and architecture supporting customer applications.
• Conduct Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and document findings in Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
