This role is responsible for owning database performance, health, and reliability within the current ERP environment. The engineer will remediate and right-size existing SQL Server instances, including log file configuration, maintenance plans, and tech-debt databases. A key aspect of the role involves designing and supporting the transition of on-prem databases to Azure (e.g., Azure SQL / Managed Instance) as an interim step toward full SaaS adoption, and supporting the broader transition from on-prem Epicor to Epicor Kinetic SaaS, including data access, integrations, and reporting impacts. The role will evolve to encompass ownership of enterprise data platforms and integrations (Azure, Snowflake, analytics, and data flows between systems), ensuring data accuracy, availability, and consistency across operational and analytical systems. The engineer will partner with IT and business teams to improve data flows, reduce risk, and retire legacy technical debt over time.
