About The Position

Reporting to the Exploration Geology team, the Database Manager is responsible for ensuring the management, quality, and enhancement of geoscientific data required for exploration programs and geological modeling.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in GIS software: QGIS / ArcGIS / MapInfo;
  • Proficiency in drillhole data management and geological modeling software: Datamine / Leapfrog / Micromine Suite;
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems;
  • Programming and automation skills: Python / R / SQL;
  • Technical understanding of geoscientific workflows: drilling, sampling, and geological interpretation;
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills;
  • Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach;
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, with strong communication skills;
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • preferably within the mining industry
  • field experience is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, develop, and optimize geological and GIS databases supporting exploration projects;
  • Contribute to the design, structuring, and continuous improvement of geoscientific data management systems;
  • Ensure data quality through the implementation and continuous enhancement of QA/QC procedures;
  • Work closely with geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and modeling teams to ensure data consistency and integration;
  • Prepare, consolidate, and update databases used for geological modeling and resource estimation;
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports in accordance with international mining industry standards and reporting formats;
  • Develop scripts and automation tools (algorithms, data processing routines, workflows) to improve operational efficiency;
  • Train and support users in the effective use of data management systems and tools;
  • Provide cross-functional technical support to project teams in resolving data-related issues.
