About The Position

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Infrastructure Engineer Manager to provide continuous services on a global level and supporting teams providing technical advisory, application support, help in developing architecture design patterns, technology-build standards, and operational process standards to ensure a unified global approach meets business requirements.

Requirements

  • Handson experience in Database design & architecture
  • Handson Experience in Backup & Recovery scenarios
  • Experience in implementing High Availability & Disaster Recovery solutions using Always ON, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring and Log Shipping
  • In - depth knowledge on Database Internals
  • Commercial experience in building Cloud Computing like Azure/AWS
  • Experience working as a DEVOPS Automation Engineer for database deployment
  • Experience in designing ETL for data movement between excel, flat file, RDBMS like Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server using Bulk Insert, BCP utility, DTS and a variety of SSIS (ispac) packages including custom transformations for a wide range of business requirements

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers and the Architecture team to define a strategic technology roadmap aligned with the global architecture vision.
  • Evaluate emerging and existing QBE database technologies, nurturing awareness of new enhancements and features.
  • Works with the Architecture community and other CoPs to evaluate and implement solutions and roadmaps.
  • Standardize support tools and techniques for key functions like monitoring, alerting, and backups.
  • Create tools, techniques, and processes for the DB Operational team to ensure real-time validation and technical assurance of new infrastructure.
  • Manage the DB license compliance and purchase requirements, sharing information with stakeholders.
  • Ensure security, confidentiality, and integrity of information systems through compliance with legislation and regulations, implementing necessary controls and management strategies.
  • Own diverse technical expertise including DevOps, troubleshooting, cloud computing, coding/scripting, and infrastructure engineering, along with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Take ownership of technical problems, proactively resolving issues to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Identify and analyze problems, prioritizing them, documenting causes, and implementing remedies.
  • Focus on the entire lifecycle of service delivery, from design and development to delivery and operations, ensuring IT products and vendors work together effectively.
  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge necessary for fulfilling role responsibilities effectively.
  • Utilize lateral thinking to diagnose root causes of problems and troubleshoot across various technology capabilities, including compute, storage, networking, software, and cloud services.
